Belly dancer

Due to dim lighting it is dificult to see properly ceonverly we will be using lighting kit and get the club lighter in the specific  day when we will be filming . This is the belly dancer dancing for arabic percussion music.

Dj at the job

The Dj playing his music at the job. The lip synching would be taking place here.

Inside the club

Due to dim lighting the video was a bit dark. However in the actual clip we will be using lighting kit and having the lights o the club to be lit a bit more.

Meeting up with the DJ For location shots

This is me waiting for the Dj of the club to come so we can get in and take some location and setting shots of the place.

Digipaks-Bilal & Jack

This is my digipack. I have kept it rather simple with images of the artist and location it is set in. The front cover is the artist at the job with his name on the top left. The dim lighting created an impact on the image in terms of the funky genre. The inside consists of another image of the dj with a paragraph of his thanks to his loved ones. The concept of the continuity proceeds with images. The half where the cd is places has an image at the background of the club. The back of the cover highlights the belly dancer in the club dancing which relates to our clip since we are using her to dance. (Bilal Salli)

Here is a basic layout for my digipak.I chose to use a mix of waterloo graffiti tunnel imagery and some middle eastern themed photos as I believe this best represents what our video will be about. The middle eastern theme shows through in the font I used which has some sharp edged points to the letters. This is very basic but it lays the foundation for future work on my digipak. Pitch

We have searched for legal walls in London to graffiti on. We have looked up many places on the Internet also called up certain boroughs and councils to confirm the legal permission. Here are some of the images and links of the websites which gave us information.

The Cans Festival featured works by Banksy and street artists from around the world. The event also offered blank walls at the Lower Marsh end of the tunnel for festival attendees to add their own stencil art.

Although the large-scale installations will be removed now that the festival has ended, the stencil art on the walls is expected to remain in place for some months.

Between 1994 and 2007 Leake Street – which links York Road with Lower Marsh – was used by taxis picking up and dropping off at Waterloo International station.

When Eurostar moved its operations across London to St Pancras last November the Leake Street tunnel was closed to vehicles although pedestrians are still free to use it as a link between the South Bank and Waterloo's shopping area.

If there is other concerns please do not hesitate to contact the borough council.

Final Choice of Song

Our Final Choice of Song is  Chemical Brothers – Galvanize.

We’ve decided with our group that the song is very catchy and fast paced.
The song is good to listen to, but also is great to dance to and as it’s very dynamic.
We are thinking of doing something totally different than the original video and we have loads of ideas to show our skills of filming and editing while creating something new and unique.

Previous students work

This is a student work from last years media studies. This music video is very good due to the lip synching which is very precise, variety of shots eg location, different shot types eg close up, mid-shots. The student is stylised with the colour red which is reflected on the song which is about love. The red is portrayed through lipstick, shoes and earrings. The 3 words 'Everybody needs love' that are often repated in the lyrics is shown on posters with different people holding it which gets a lot of attention. The artist is shown with the posters within a lot of people which shows that she is sharing her love which is very good.

Final song choice Chemical Brothers - Galvanize

We have chosen the song Chemical Brothers - Galvanize. As a group we decided that this song would be very good and suitable for our coursework as it is a fast-paced, dynamic soundtrack and we thought it be appropiate to do a song that we all enjoyed listening to. We believe that we can display our creativity, filming, editing skills clearly with this song. As this song is very up beat, entertaining and the lyrics is sang quite quickly, so lip synching is extremely vital to produce an outcome with this song. We believe we can produce a creative, different video clip to the original.
