CD cover analysis 2.

The background – in contrast to the girl-band – is simple yet elegant. The use of black and white, once again, forces attention upon the band.  Editing has been used to create gradients of light and to enhance the reflection on the floor, generating connotations of fame and glamour, as bright lights and attractive models are images we are used to seeing when referring to these topics.
The band’s name is displayed twice in two different areas of the cover. The largest title is positioned behind the group, slightly concealed by the way they are standing – this has obviously been done deliberately as the target audience are expected to already be familiar with the band name, and therefore, there is no need for it to be in full view. This technique is used quite often in magazines; where the title is slightly hidden by an image (usually a model or celebrity) because the reader is expected to be familiar with the company name.
