Evaluation. Q. 1

1. In what ways does your media product use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?

We took inspirations from Madonna 'Hung Up' and DMC 'It's like that videos.
We used them two videos to look at while making our own video, because there is loads and loads of dancing, and that's what we wanted to use in our video.
The use of camera in both of them videos is very interesting, rotates and concentrates on the dancers bodies the most and that's what influenced us.

The shots of dancers legs/feet were used in both - Hung up and It's like that videos, we also used this in our video. We thought that the movement and the rhythm was a very important part of the shot.

We really liked the slow motion movement at the end of Madonna's video and because, we've had that kind of slow moment in our video, we decided to use flashing images for that bit, we mixed belly dancers shots with street dancers shots, which were coming one after another, creating a really interesting and professional looking sequence.

'It's like that' video shows the dance battle between girls and boys, which is a very strong and interesting motive to be used in a video, although we have concentrated on one particular street dancer who has been dancing in front of the graffiti walls, we still took some ideas of how to film and in what angle. Pictures above show similarities to DMC's video. Also the location feels very familiar in DMC's video, main characters are dancing in some sort of old warehouse/factory, whereas in our video we used Old Vic Tunnel's with loads of graffiti.

In all the videos shown above we can see all sorts music players carried around, we used a dj and dj's equipment in our video.
